Lincoln RC&D - Resource Areas of Concern:

Waste Management:
- Improve water quality of the rural and urban sectors of the Lincoln RC&D area.

Tourism and Recreation Development:
- Promote tourist attractions and landmarks within the area.

Land Conservation:
- Conserve and protect the cultural, economic and natural resources by controlling erosion and sedimentation.

Community Development:
- Encourage environmentally sound and well balanced growth.

Other:
- Address issues and concerns not previously submitted within designated categories.

LINCOLN RC&D PROJECT SUMMARY

Cloverport Video - Developed a video for the City of Cloverport to be used in conjunction with public meetings, grant packages, legislators and private sector to entice business and industry for economic growth to the area.

Flaherty Ballpark - Assisting with water disposal and erosion control structures for new ballpark recently constructed.

Breckinridge County Bicentennial - Assisting with overall planning of activities and financial budget for 1999 Bicentennial Historical Celebration.

American Heritage Rivers Initiative - Working with Riverfront Development Committee for City of Cloverport in developing plan for American Heritage Rivers Initiative.

Hardinsburg Sports Complex - Assisting with grant writing for concession/conference building at county ballpark.

Breckinridge County FFA Nature Center - Consists of a 5 acre nature center/outdoor classroom for use by over 3300 students in both public and private school districts of Breckinridge County to learn about the environment.

Meade County Dry Hydrant Project - Assisting the Payneville and Rhodelia Volunteer Fire Departments by installing dry hydrant systems in farm ponds for rural fire protection.

Released Garden/Laboratory Equipment - Working with Kentucky State Police and county police departments to secure confiscated lab equipment for use in classrooms verses being destroyed or thrown in landfills.

Cloverport L&N Baggage Train Depot Museum - Working with the revitalization committee to renovate and preserve the historical depot building for use as a museum for the community’s historical artifacts and publications.

TAPP - Assisting with grant writing to secure funding for equipment for the Teenage Parent Program Day Care Center. The Center provides day care for infants and toddlers of parents attending classes in order for them to receive a high school diploma.
