Introduction: Welcome to the ICEC building. It was constructed by resources provided by valuable and generous members of the Center with the objective of providing a venue for the Indian students and the local Indian community for educational and cultural gains. It is also a home away from home to students of Indian origin who study in Gainesville. The building is maintained primarily by membership dues, rental fees, and fundraising programs. Students do not pay any fees for using the facility unless the use of the main hall is involved when a nominal charge is levied to cover the utility expenses.

Custodians: ICEC has signed a contract with Mr. Ron Myers for custodial services. Under the agreement, there are three custodians who live in a house on the ICEC premises and provide services in the operation and maintenance of the building.  Currently, the custodians are: Brian, Jeff, and Ronnie. Their phone number is (352) 379-2911. This is also the ICEC number. They are instructed to keep private phone use to a minimum. The custodians also have an answering machine. During weekdays they work outside and from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm they are required to keep the building open on weekdays. They clean, repair, maintain the lawn and shrubbery, help in parking, answer phone, etc. They will assist you provided the work performed is within the guidelines given to them and does not require unreasonable time or resources. The three are supervised by the Chair of the Building Maintenance Committee consisting of 4-5 volunteers, all residents of Gainesville. Their phone numbers are posted in and outside the building.

Rules for Parking at ICEC

Vehicles parked illegally will be towed at owner’s expense

1) You may park at ICEC only when you are in the building.
2) Park only in authorized places.
3) While parking on the paved area, always pull your vehicle all the way up against the tire bumpers. This is very important to have clear passage.
4) When parking in the back (unpaved areas), you must pull all the way up as far possible. 
5) Do not leave more than 3ft. of space between cars. Leaving too much space will deprive others of a parking space.
6) Do not block any vehicle or passage. Driveways and turn arounds must be left free for Emergency Vehicles at all times. 
7) Park at your own risk.
