Intake Manifold overheating

Answers

Is having the wrong intake manifold the cause of my engine overheating?

Well I have a 1990's SBC 350 engine on my 1963 impala. It have a SBC 327 well I use the intake manifold from the 327 The center bolts are different but i made it work.

A leaking intake manifold gasket can cause overheating.

And that's JUST a gasket.
So you bet that an improper intake can cause over heating!

Firebird 3.4 Overheating issue - Camaro Zone

I was convinced the thermostat was bad, because the heater was intermittently blowing hot and cold air. So today I replaced the thermostat, bled the cooling system, and did everything according to factory procedures. Afterwards I started the car up, and a very light bit of white smoke starting coming out of the exhaust after the car heated up. And now the heater only blows cold air, with the new thermostat. It's probably not the water pump. If you have high miles you might want to replace it anyway though. The problem might be an intake manifold gasket. That will allow coolant to enter the combustion camber with out leaving residue in the oil. The exhaust will smell sweet. Don't forget that cars blow moisture when it's cold out side, but it should never smell sweet. If it is an intake gasket the job should take one FULL day. Start on a friday night incase you break something, go to sleep, finish it up early saturday into saturday night....

Tyrone Matt: Would an intake manifold leak cause my car to overheat?

I have a 95 Honda Civic that has been having some serious overheating issues. I have changed the water pump, thermostat, and the radiator cap but none of this seems to have worked. And I have had some intermittent problems with extremely rough idling. From what I have read that the idling problem sounds like it could be a leaking intake manifold gasket. When I give it a little gas it runs fine. Could that cause the overheating. Is there a chance that these are connected issues or are the possibly separate.
