Customer Reviews:
  1. Works as long as you leave it in.
I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this product. My head gasket started to fail the week before Thanksgiving, and this stuff kept me mobile through the holidays and long enough to get my tax return. In fact, it probably would have lasted even longer, but i just flushed the cooling system...
  2. Next best thing to repairing it the right way!
The correct way to repair a coolant leak is to replace the parts that are leaking (cylinder head, head gasket, radiator, etc.), but if you can't do that for some reason, this is your best bet. It'll permanently seal up leaks that all those cheap stop-leaks just can't. It won't clog anything up...

We have a 95 Trans Am with an LT1 in my shop now that has a blown head gasket. A cylinder leak down test would be how to determine where exactly it's leaking. Unfortunately to do so is extremely difficult because a few of spark plugs are a bear to get to. You need to do some

This.

If you have that kind of time, buy with the plan that you'll still come out ahead if you have to swap the entire motor. Plan on it.

Try the headgasket, they're cheap, see what you find while you're in there.

Bonus points if all it REALLY needed was a headgasket, but that's rarely the case.

I worked on a car once that "just needed a headgasket."

Well, come to find out that it HAD a brand new headgasket. Unfortunately, during the headgasket replacement, an air and water line to the IAC was swapped, so the car was sucking water into the intake manifold, which might be way it was shooting water out the muffler.

Decided to just clean it out and see what happened. (After putting on another headgasket.)

Oops. Bearings washed. Spun one within 50 miles.

Yeah, head went kerflooey befor the gasket on a Tracer that The Boy bought from a co-worker.

Co-worker said the temp gauge pegged when he about 5 miles from home. It died three times, but he managed to get it running again, to make the last two miles. Said the windows fogged up really bad, too. He is NOT a car guy.
