I was told that my car is leaking antifreeze and the shop quoted me a price of $580. 00. for about five to six hours of labor. Is this reasonable?

yup,it's a 6 hr job-I've personally done this repair about 10 times at my shop- very common on gm v6 engines. make sure the tech is experienced with this repair procedure-it can haunt you if not done right the first time.

IF IT IS DO I NEED TO REPLACE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET WHEN I CHANGE OUT THE STARTER.
if it is the north star engine then yes it is under the intake. if you pull the intake off, you have to replace any gasket that was disturbed and refill any fluid (coolant) that spilled/leaked.

I only ran into this prbloem with one bolt i tried the allen headed one but the washer would not let it work. i tried grinding the washer but it broke once i torqued it . I ended up using a stud for it., it was the furthest one in the middle pass. side between the runners its close to number 6 cylinder if that makes sence. For all the others i used hex bolts just fine....
