It's cooling and there is a contracting differential in the different metals.
car is idling very ruff-then dies have to Pump gas to get it to run at all. if you mess with the pvc value it change the idle-any ideas vacc leak maybe?
it is fuel injection-FYI
Make sure that all of the vacuum hoses are attached, not loose or cracked. If they are stiff replace them. You can take degreaser and spray it around the area where you hear the hisss and determine where the leak is around your intake manifold, try to notice if the engine starts

Cadillac ATS Hopes To Set The BMW 3 Series
And Cadillac’s most recent new car, the front-wheel-drive XTS that shares a platform with the Buick LaCrosse, wasn’t exactly the pint of O+ we wanted. So the ATS needs to be great, or else we’re gonna pop fang.
Luckily for Cadillac (and for us, and really, for everybody else), the ATS looks like it’s going to be the sort of entry-level sports-luxury sedan that keeps engineers at BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi up all night. It’s built on an all-new RWD platform, it’s been tested on the Nürburgring, it offers near 50/50 weight distribution, weighs in at under 3,400 pounds in its lightest trim, and comes with not one but three engines. Oh, and there’s an available manual gearbox.
Rental car fleets and grandmothers will settle for the base engine, a 202 horsepower, 195 lb-ft 2.5 liter inline-four. Rookie lawyers and paper supply company regional managers will check the box for the biggest engine, the 320 horsepower, 267 lb-ft 3.5 liter V6 from the CTS. But enthusiasts will want the mid-level engine, the 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder. It’s down a little in the power department next to the V6, but with 270 horses, 260 lb-ft, and a torque curve that resembles Missouri between 1,500 and 5,800 rpm, it shouldn’t leave anyone wanting—and more importantly, it’ll be the only model available with the six-speed manual. (All-wheel-drive will also be available on the ATS, in case you’re into that sort of thing.
Dodge Dart Looks PrDodge Dart Looks Promisingomising
Chrysler revealed its upcoming 2013 Dodge Dart at a Detroit Auto Show press conference earlier this week. When speaking of replacing the Dodge Caliber, its price started at $15,995, and slot right along more popular compact cars like Chevrolet Cruze, the Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra and Honda Civic. The new Dart appears like a come back to form, selecting where the Neon left off—or, possibly more properly, guaranteeing us what the Neon only teased.
Depending on what we view in the cabin of the Dart versions displayed at Detroit, cabin appointments seem to overcompensate for the Caliber’s problems. However with the new Tigershark engine that is common under the hood of all Dart designs what of vibration noise and harshness? That’s what we questioned Dart chief engineer Mike Merlo at the show this week. When you think about summer, do you think about having an icy cold Coca Cola waiting for you when you get home? Do you love the taste of a Coke shake made with vanilla ice cream? Whether you are someone who grew up with Coca Cola or you have only begun to enjoy it late in life, you will find that one of the best things about this sugary carbonated drink is that it can be made to suit any tastes. And in case the modified Charger and Journey aren’t proof enough, it appears like much has altered in the way that Chrysler engineers cars....
240 Starts then dies, screaming noise from engine
85 Volvo 240, got all the vacuum leaks squared away and turned the distributor cap to make the car start and run smoothly again (after the Smog Test Guys messed it all up)... it was trouble-free for 4 weeks, then this morning after a half-hour ride to work, we started it a second time, to move the car up a bit, and it started up with an angry noise... not a cylinder noise or a rattle but something that reminded me of when there is a hole in the intake manifold or a large vacuum hose has come off, or a rear-end has lost all it's gear oil and you are driving fast. Or, the sound Godzilla would make in a sound studio if the script called for him to "make a car engine sound." I will try to pinpoint the source, maybe a frozen AC compressor or power steering belt, but it sure is a little louder than that, and not back where the fuel pumps are.... it doesn't seem like an exhaust manifold noise or an exhaust donut leak. Perhaps like an...

3) More Noise Treatment Everywhere Else. “And we've changed the head around dramatically, obviously, because of the front exhaust and rear intake,” said Merlo. To match the new orientation, Chrysler designed a new, long-runner intake manifolds for3D Car Shows - Jan 01, 1970
Both the intake manifold and fuel rail have acoustically dampened covers that contribute to reduced engine noise in the passenger cabin. Regular fuel with an 87 octane rating is recommended. The 2.0-liter Tigershark engine is standard on the Dart SE,

A composite intake manifold that saves approximately 5.5 pounds (2.5 kg) over the weight of a comparable aluminum intake. It also has a comparatively small radiated surface area to help maintain excellent noise and vibration characteristics.
