Good but not perfect
I bought this manifold for my 2000 Mustang GT, because the original manifold was leaking coolant around the thermostat housing and it had started running into the spark plug wells, which of course was causing misfires. Overall, the Dorman manifold seems to be of pretty good quality, especially... -
Great Quality, Great Price, and a performance increase to boot!
The stock plastic intake on my 2000 Mustang GT finally cracked right where the upper radiator hose attaches to the manifold. I needed an intake fast to get my car back on the road so I ordered the Dorman 615-175 manifold.I've read good and bad things about the Dorman VS the Ford replacement....
The new intake manifold has the built in gaskets, is it still necessarry to use RV silicone around the base of it?
So I think my head gasket's busted. I was replacing my spark plugs and wires this morning and noticed some antifreeze in one of the slots in the front. I'm not entirely sure which of the two is busted though and it's bugging me, ahhhh!!! Anyways...
Start your engine with the radiator cap off. Then check for bubbles and an exhaust smell coming from the radiator. If this is so then the head is cracked or head gasket is blown. That's a start..

It would seem these days that everyone in the West Palm Beach, Fla. area has a late model Ford Mustang that they’ve managed to push into the tens and beyond. And the more the merrier we say, as it provides some much-needed entertainment (and some reporting material) during our long winter hibernation.
Recently, South Florida resident Joe “Coffee Man” Decaria got in on the action, powering his 2011 Ford Mustang GT to a quick 9.87 elapsed time at 139 miles per hour. Naturally, this feat wasn’t accomplished with an as-stock vehicle, but thanks to the impressive potential of the 5.0L off the showroom floor, it’s not too far off.
Decaria’s GT features a D1SC supercharger from ProCharger , traversing though a Boss intake manifold into the 5.0L Coyote mill. In addition, he’s outfitted the Mustang with a full aftermarket exhaust system, 3,600 RPM stall torque converter, and 3.55 rear gears. Producing 16 pounds of boost, the ProCharger D1SC delivered enough additional horsepower and torque to propel Decaria to a personal best and certainly one of the more impressive runs on the still relatively new 2011-12 Mustang combination.
