I'm not looking to replace the 1998 with a performance intake manifold, just with a stock 1999 If they are stock motors, no. The 1996-1998 4.6 Mustangs had NPI heads and intakes, the 1999 and up got the PI heads and intakes. The intakes are not interchangeable.

Old manifold is developing a crack. Where and which is the best manifold for my stock gt? I know their are alot of aftermarket products!
If you're just looking for a stock replacement, the Ford dealer should have an "improved" intake with an aluminum crossover to prevent the cracks that the '96-98 intakes were notorious for.
1998 mustang gt powerloss.?
I have a 1998 mustang gt 70,000 miles on it. I had the intake manifold replaced due to cracking in the maniold, replaced the sparkplugs and wires. Drove my buddies mustang and noticed that his was alot quicker than mine in the higher rpms and we both have stock mustangs. His even has 10,000 more miles on his. This alll happened after all the things i did to it. Just 2 weeks ago a check engine light came on and hooked car up to computer. code threw a air fuel mixter code. Mechanic took engine light on and never came back on since. so what the hec do i do???
4.6 3v to 5.4 intake manifold options
I'm not following how the runner length would be increased? The plenum volume would be, but that can be easily adjusted. Obviously if the stock 5.4 piece works, thats the way to go, I thought there was something about using it, but I can't come up with anything. Also I believe the 5.4 piece had longer runners, than the 4.6 piece? That assassin guy had his writeup on I believe here and modular depot. I seem to recall someone else running a stock 5.4 3v when they first came out, but the name escapes me.
