— The band played the Beatles song “Imagine”, and by Sunday at noon at the second annual Goodland Christmas Bazaar, that’s what you had to do; imagine all the people. The turn-out Saturday was a lot better, with a nice flow of visitor’s to the Boat Park looking for a bargain, a book, Christmas items, a tree or a great piece of original art.
Saturday was the day, according to the vendors. Morning by 8 was bustling with 54 hopeful sellers setting up walls to form their studios in the park to hang their art, or setting up tables to display their goods. About half of the merchants were from Goodland, the rest came from Marco Island and as far away as Bonita Springs.
The holiday bazaar did not want for variety of items available. From a hat worn in a Las Vegas show (which show wasn’t certain) to hand crocheted scarves, used James Patterson novels, a tripod, soy soap and candles, handmade jewelry galore, beads, stones, shells, golf clubs, cards and ornaments, decorative masks, costumes, alligator heads and large birds made from PVC pipe, original paintings and fine art photography, the bazaar piqued the interest all the way around.
