We had our furnace replaced last year and had a Lennox SLP98V 98% efficiency unit installed because it wasn't much more than the lower efficiency rated units. Wow, what a difference the furnace made in our monthly gas bills, they dropped by quite a bit which will more than make up the difference... -
A very nice filter at a very nice price.
I was very pleased with this filter and would purchase anytime over the recommended Bryant and 3M filters. The quality is just as good (if not better) and the price was lower.

if you get a repair manual for instructions you can do it yourself,its not hard at all once you know where it is and what to remove.usually the filters are changed during a service and you are only charged for the filter and maybe 0.

Chesapeake prison trains inmates for green jobs
CHESAPEAKE
A large, state-funded project to make Virginia's prisons more energy-efficient has spawned a new inmate training program at Indian Creek Correctional Center.
Using several hundred thousand dollars saved from lower energy costs, state officials opened a 2,000-square-foot facility this week to train prisoners for careers maintaining green heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
The program will train inmates in high-demand skills needed to service and maintain the more complex, digitally controlled HVAC systems, said Rick Barrett of Johnson Controls Inc. The Milwaukee-based company, which has been hired by the state to conduct an upgrade to water and energy systems in correctional facilities in Virginia, assisted in developing the course and providing training materials. Johnson's current $18 million contract involves 11 state facilities.
The training program "is not simply about changing filters and maintaining motors," Barrett said. "It's about maintaining and operating these systems in an efficient manner with new technology.

I first did this in my '88 Caravan. It's kind of dusty in AZ and I don't like the idea of dirt collecting on the evaporator or the heater core. I had to do a heater core in my shop truck. Since I had to remove the HVAC box I figured I'd make one for my truck too. The inside of the HVAC box wasn't too dirty but I like efficiency and a dirty evaporator core isn't efficient. To do the heater core is 3.6 hours. It took me about six hours to build the frame for the cabin air filter not including R&Ring the HVAC box.
