Air Filters
Fram CA9683 Extra Guard Panel Air
(Misc.) Fram
A clean air filter helps keep damaging particles from entering your engine and causing increased engine wear
More airflow for improved performance
A dirty air filter restricts airflow which can contribute to decreased acceleration, horsepower, and overall reduced engine performance
FRAM Recommends to change your air filter every 12,000 miles
Please note that Fram is making ongoing changes to their packaging to reflect the new name "Extra Guard". Regardless of whether box received displays "Extra Guard" name or not, the filter inside has not changed.

I've noticed that my 4runner has oil on the air filter and in the air filter compartment. What could be the cause of this? I noticed at times white smoke coming from the exaust at morning starts.
This COULD be nothing more than a clogged PCV valve, but if your engine is high mileage and/or has not had good maintenance, it could be an indication that it's worn out.
Check the PCV valve first. It's cheap to replace.

I have a 2000 4Runner SRS with 181k miles. I have replaced my (antenna) mast before several years ago with no problem until this most recent time. For some reason my antenna assembly nut was gone and when I turned my radio on the mast fell out because the nut to hold it in was missing. When I purchased and put my new mast (and nut) in, the mast extended just fine. When I turned the radio off, it retracted but the motor keeps running for about 10 seconds. after a few days I took the mast out and the plastic cable had broken off. I then took antenna assembly out (via the wheel well) took the broken cable out and reinstalled another new mast. It now retracts fine but when it is fully extended, it keeps running for about 10 seconds (backwards from before). I thought it was maybe the relay but it looks like from this post maybe the limiting switch is in the antenna assembly itself, I just don't know which part to replace.
John,
Since you have read the other post I know you've seen ASE's responses. You can follow those or do what you had already mentioned on the other post and replace the whole assembly. When you first posted on that thread it wasn't clear which problem you were having since there were two separate people, with two separate cars, with two separate problems, already on it before you got there. Your last response on that post and your questions on this one make your issue clear. You can try using an OE mast but you saw the results of the last guy that tried. You saw Big Block's "8 out of 10" scenario. You might be one of the unfortunate two. :-(
